I've been on a bit of a Hillbilly kick, and recently got a box set of Western Swing tracks from the thirties. Bob Wills, Al Dexter and the like, and the everlasting search for an acoustic bass sound.
This particular song arrived after hearing 'Big Red and the Wagoneers' (a modern Bluegrass band) doing a song called 'Breaking Rocks'. The singer sounds far to gentle and kind to be on a chain gang, so I was wondering how he got there. 'Overdrawn at the Bank' is one solution.
