Song Information:
The idea of "Sugar Cane" is one of those sort of song concepts of taking a common phrase and attaching multiple, flexible, juxtaposed meanings. Cane betrayed and killed his brother, female characters in hard rock are often portrayed as betrayers or as being sweet as honey, so this sort of blends those two traits into a sort of deceiver - the classic hard rock femme fatal. Pure fictional theatre, an intellectual exercise, nothing more.
I'm not happy with the lyrics or the vocal at this stage, it's just a sketch. Like many of these projects I embark on, it may not get finished, but here it is for a look-see.
