When Doc Jones sent me this beat on a Thursday night, I had no idea what he had in mind; I only knew I loved what he had done. I immediately started writing about what was on my mind when I heard the Bill Withers sample, finished it in less than an hour, and Doc and I laid the track down the next night.

But it was missing something.

That something was Griznoodle, the Funktorious GBZ. My man since college came from the Golden State to the land of ‘Live Free or Die’ and helped us tie it all together, real tight, like.
