I was talking to my roommate the other night & he asked me how I write songs. I started talking about how it was all modular "like building somehting out of lego blocks", at least in the way that I approach it. I played him a few songs by songwriters that I feel use this approach & then got the bright idea of using apple loops to illustrate my point. We built this together: I'd pick an element, then he would. It was fun!
