Back in '2004, "The Diamond Age" was the first tune in my "Phantom Films" series of main title themes, inspired by books that haven't yet been turned into movies. This particular piece was inspired by Neal Stephenson's 1996 post-cyberpunk novel about a young girl's coming of age in a future neo-Victorian world dominated by nanotechnology. Interestingly, the book is now being adapted as a mini-series for the Sci-Fi channel, so eventually I can compare my musical vision of the main title theme to the actual main title theme composed for the TV version.
This remixed version of "The Diamond Age" shifts instrumentation from a variety of EXS24 instruments I found on the web or bought at wizoosounds.com to instruments from Apple's World Music Jam Pack. For example, Apple's Shakuhachi flute and Koto are brighter and better defined than their Wizoo counterparts. The original version was mixed in GB1 but not mastered; this version was remixed in GB4 and mastered with Ozone 3.
