Last night I played a gig with the guys. It was a wedding reception, so we were The Fabs. Dinner wasn't yet served at the allotted time to start playing, so we had to turn down, way down (all the way to minus 11 ;) ) and I just couldn't get motivated. Still, the show must go on, the punters have paid for entertainment, and even if it feels like a trip to the dentist for me, they're going to get a smile, and a rollicking beat.
They loved it, they were stoked, they couldn't get enough, and even though they were tired from a long day and wanted an early night, we still didn't get out of the venue before midnight. That's what I mean by my fingers were bleeding. It hurt, but it was worth the pain. They rewarded our perseverence with praise and love. This is why we do it.
This would be a record for me, half an hour from getting the mood to record, to pressing the upload button. Hope it doesn't sound too rough ;)
