There has been a long and devastating drought in most parts of Australia over the past 5 (at least) years. I read an article last weekend describing the anguish of farmers who are at breaking point - shooting their stock because there's no feed, leaving their farms because they can't pay the mortgage, and in some cases taking their own lives. I tried to imagine their situation and these lyrics are what I came up with.
This is getting closer to the sort of songs I want to write and play - the combination of acoustic and electric guitars gives me much more with which to develop a song.
The top harmony is my wife jan's first ever try at singing, and it worked rather well I think.
There are three electric guitar tracks, acoustic guitar, organ, bass, Drums on Demand and a tambourine track. There are also 4 vocal tracks in all. Lots of fun mixing it all up!
As usual, play it loud - but be careful of your ears : )
