Song Information:
I grew up in Central Texas, where armadillos are as common as house cats but, generally, a lot flatter. This is the first tune in a 26-tune album, Animal Crackers, which celebrate armadillos to zorillas. In this first tune, our armadillo friend starts out hopeful that he can cross the highway without becoming road kill but, as the tune progresses, he realizes it's a hopeless dream and turns back. A little more country than soft rock, but we don't have a "country-rock" genre (yet) at MacIdol.
