"O Come, O Come Emmanuel" is an ancient Advent hymn. The lyrics date back to the 9th Century; the music was written as a plainsong in the 15th Century. We decided to post this today, which is the first Sunday in Advent 2005.
Advent is a time of spiritual preparation, a period of calm and thoughtfulness before Christmas.
"Emmanuel" is the first track on Splendor Bright, the Noel Project's Christmas CD. This is an unusual arrangement that blends several genres, including gospel. We hope you enjoy it.
