This was a lot of fun for me to put together. I would like to thank the Wrong World Choir: alley-oop, pgreenstone, daphna, Mystified, bronco, rebsie, mandolinquent and Mungo. Thanks, too, to pgreenstone for production help and additional lyrics, and to daphna and alley-oop for additional lyrics.
On the surface this song would seem to be taking a shot at American business, but it is really intended to be more spiritual than political. It was inspired by a recent Internet thread entitled "Is there a God?" Alley-oop and I traded some thoughts about that and the email discussion gave me the idea for this song. It is not so much about business, as it is about 'busy-ness.' How sometimes we are so preoccupied with perceived reality--worldly things--that we have no time to consider ultimate reality. Sometimes business is a comforting distraction.
For those who say, "But, business makes the world go round!" I would suggest that what really makes the world go round is Something Else.
