Through the years...
In the early sixties I began with the clarinet, having the good fortune to take lessons ('62-'67) from Charlotte Plummer Owen (link). I soon started learning tenor sax which led to my parents buying me a Selmer Mark VI and to my playing sax in three different soul bands in the Philadelphia area over a five year period (1966-1970). During that time I started learning and playing acoustic guitar. From 1980 through 2000 I played guitar & sang mainly for personal and family enjoyment, as well as leading worship singing in a home church group for a couple years. When my three daughters got married over a three year period (2000-2002) I wrote each of them a song and sang those at their weddings. This was my first excursion into songwriting. Enter GarageBand '04, then MacIdol & MacJams in June 2004. Since then I've posted original music here and at other sites. After many years without a tenor sax, I bought a new one in December of 2006 and started playing again. Since 2006 I've been performing a once a month vox/guitar set of American standards and pop music at a local rehab and convalescent facility..
