Here's yet another of my maniac ragtime piece for band. I have a problem in that most concert band members are rather "square" people, and my bizarre music finds favor with only a few bands beyond the pale. The sinister titles don't help either.
After writing this piece, I was still somewhat manic, and I had the bizarre idea that I should make the spurious claim that the piece was in fact the suppressed soundtrack to the Zapruder film, and that the music was not by me, but merely an arrangement of music by nightclub owner Jack Ruby. I figured that the notoriety would help draw attention to it, and the conspiracy idiots'll believe anything.
Well, I'm trying to sell scores and parts, and so I realized that such mischief would queer the enterprise and get me into trouble with the Department of Fatherland Scrutiny or the Center for Ease Control as well, so I simply titled it "Evil Clowns Skulk By Night," but even that wasn't mild enough, as I've already received complaints.
