So I just finished filming my very first music video in Garden of the Gods a few days ago. It was pretty sweet; the scenery was beautiful. I absolutely love mountains, forests, canyons, rock formations, and western Colorado in general (which is basically what I just described).
My only complaint is that I wish it hadn't been so ridiculously hot! All of my outfits had long sleeves.
And DESPITE all that, I still got sunburned! How unfair, right? Yes. Yes, it is unfair.
Anyway, the editing takes forever, so I still haven't seen the finished product, but it'll be done soon. And when it is... Well, a general atmosphere of excitement will ensue.
Now, if you'll excuse me, I need to go an apply some aloe vera to my sunburn.
Cover art for the album is DONE!

I am SO excited.
The album cover looks great! I definitely expected it to look good; after all, the designer is extremely talented and just plain awesome. But somehow, I really didn't expect to be this happy with it. I never had a specific vision in mind for the album; I just knew what elements I wanted in the picture. (Namely: a portion of my face, a tree, several owls, etc.) Somehow, three amazing people managed to piece those things together just right. (And here, I am referring to the artist who drew the background and my lovely little owls, the photographer who shot my pictures in the first place, and the graphic designer who put it all together. THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH!)
Wow, I almost typed "mucho" instead of "much" and I have no idea why. I guess either one would get my point across nicely.
A.) Thank you very much.
B.) Thank you very mucho.
[Feel free to choose whichever option seems most appropriate.]
Anyway, I need to go and get some work done for my publishing company before I either forget or decide to take a five-hour-long nap (as I have been known to do), but of course I'll be back in touch soon.
Much love!

My first ever blog is about nothing.

I am sitting in a hotel room right now, staring out at the city. There is a man across the street who appears to be talking to no one. Maybe he has one of those little cell phone ear-inserts that all the cool kids carry around these days? I am so confused.
So I am rather anxiously anticipating the completion of the album. It's going to be sweet. I cannot wait to perform the new material. Apparently there is talk of a possible debut at the Fox Pavilion? No final word yet on who my opening acts would be, although we have a pretty good idea.
I was down at the studio the other day talking to my producer, and my friend Rach came with me. An hour later, we found ourselves taking pictures in his kitchen, grabbing at each others' faces and acting like we were about to stab each other with forks from his sink. Then he took a close-up of us distorting our expressions, and my eyes ended up looking like slits and Rach looked like she was about to "do bad things to someone." (Don't ask.) He promised that those pictures would end up on the website "for promotional purposes." I actually hope they do end up on the website. Not sure what they would be promoting, other than my insanity and the similar mental state of the company I keep, but some people might be into that sort of thing I suppose.
I seriously need to get to sleep, because I have a lot to do tomorrow, but for some odd reason I felt the need to share that story with everyone, even though it has nothing to do with anything really. If you read the entire thing, you may have just wasted your time. Sorry about that.
