This short CD consists of 4 songs recorded by Matt Tahaney and Matt Beaudoin at Q Division in Cambridge, MA over the course of 2004. The various overdubs were recorded at in our space in Waltham at odd times as we could fit them in, and the whole thing is rather richly mixed with a polish you would be surprised that we could come up with.
Mastered at M Works in Cambridge, MA.
There's "Slightly Bruised" a Stones-ish anthem to sticking together through thick and thin sung by Jim with many harmonies by all;
"Remember" an upbeat number sung by John with a tinge of Who-ish urgency and a spritely organ lead;
"Phantom Life" where Matt takes us on a psychedelic trip through small-town life-take special note of the backwards guitar solo and Fender Rhodes piano.
It all ends up with a unintentional slight tip of the hat to Skynrd in "Run Away" where John and Matt split the lead vocal. |
