Dr Fish - Funk, Hip Hop, Breakbeat, Electro, Drum n Bass!!!
I started mixing back in 1999 influenced by the Trance and Techno scene. I took on the name Mister Ben and dished out a variety of Mister Ben mix tapes over the following 2 years. In 2001 on a trip to Australia a friend of mine split his head open surfing in Byron Bay. We took him to the hospital but couldn't afford the bill, which had to payed when he went back to have the stitches taken out. I was volunteered to take the stitches out for him to avoid the costs and being a Marine Biology graduate someone mentioned the name "Dr Fish" in Jest and its just kind of stuck since then. When I got back from Australia I began to mix different types of music from Soul, Funk, and Hip Hop, to Rock, Breakbeats, and Electro. In 2004 whilst working in the South West of France I got my first residency at Cafe L'Open in Moliets Plage. I was resident here for 3 consequetive years and played at several other venues in the area, and also across the French Alpes in the winters.
