Hi all
I have just uploaded a drum n bass track - Crazy Day - it really is only half finished - the main vocal is missing. The ragga vocals are from my bothers collection - I really ought to ask him where they are from! (That's why I have not allowed downloads)
I started this about 2 years ago - hey I am a slow worker - I want to add the main vocal line, some skank guitar and might try doing a live bass to replace the synth one. I love the ragga vox - the timing is a bit sloppy here and there and the arrangement needs sorting but anyway. I hope you dig it anyway.

Organized Chaos...
Very interesting Rich.
Discombobulated, yet at the same time forces me to tap me toe!
I like and look forward to the 'finshed' version!

thanks rich lovely piece of pie!
Hey, do the live bass thing but just maybe eq some bass out of the original so the they can both interact.
OOOh a skank geeetar would be fantasmico on any dnb tune esp. this one. I played along in my head whilst listening, and it sounded cool!
and hello to everyone, I've been a bit distant from macidol recently, myself and my gf have had the flu and have just been real misery guts, slumped in bed moaning!! But I feel ok now, but my dads just getting worse, it's really sad to see and must be like hell for my mum.
But life's a funny puzzle that can thow you way out of sync sometimes. I guess i'm out of sync these day's, I need a restart and maybe an upgrade

welcome back monkeyman. glad your better and sorry to hear of the family probs.
CRazy Day sounds great. It will be good to hear how the song progresses bass n skankin guitar n all. The speed changes to the voice are very cool. Is that something on the loop or is it applied by yourself?
Save the bees.

Yeah great to have Mr Ape amongst us again
Thanks for all the nice feedback chaps! I had a lot of fun with the ragga vocals. I imported them all into the NNXT sampler in reason. Then assigned them individual keys and just played away. The speed changes are me just playing with the joystick on my keyboard. I haven't worked out how to clean up my joystick movements yet - but I do like some of the madness of it - it suits the track too. Most of the trippy bass stuff was a mistake too - it's mad but works ( i think)
Dee has just recorded the main vocal line and my 3 year old Jasmine has also contributed. I have also done some skank guitar and other guitar parts. (Using the mind blowing Guitar Rig - this thing is amazing ) I havent had a go at the bass yet. Again I have chopped all this up and loaded it all into the nnxt sampler and am having a lot of fun twiddling my joystick - becareful though too much and you can go blind
Thanks again for all your kind words - I really love this place! I have over the years accumulated loads of half finished tracks - but now I have an audience - I am galvanised to finish them and play them to the world. - YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!

And speaking of "brown notes" (like in BK's latest post), that's some nice ROUND, speaker bending bottom end you've got in Crazy Day. You be stylin', Fingers mon, wikid brudder!
If that's the beta, you'll never be signed to Microsoft's record label, you'll even be too good for iTMS by final candidate!

Crazy Day (TANK TOP MIX) has been uploaded into the dark recesses of MacIDOL's drum and bass genre.
Featuring the vocals of Dee and Jasmine and a little guitar. I couldn't get quite the skank guitar sound I wanted. (My tank top was getting in the way) & I haven't had a go with the live bass yet and the levels are almost certainly all over the place as I mixed it on phones - but hey it's uploaded.
I hope you like it.
BTW TURN IT UP OK?
Here's the linkage:

Yes - almost certainly treason - MI5 are on there way rcandrews wrote:he probably bought the right to be a knight
Yes in a round about way - they also mentioned his donations to childrens charities - I am not gonna put that down - you have to give him credit where it's due - but I can't think it a little ironic that millions of children are suffering his software.

Excellent... It's really great. I love the message, and it's being delivered in a child's voice makes it even more resonant.
...and maybe let's lighten up on the Bill Gates bashing please, it's not really necessary. There's only one race, after all...
