Greetings all!
By way of introduction, I'm one of those players who used to be semi-pro (way back in the black and white days), moved to the country, settled down, got a real job, had a family etc. Now the real job is less than exciting and the family is all grown up and elsewhere. Perfect time for reaquainting myself with music.
I've been writing, playing, singing and recording my music now for just over 12 months, and considering my background was on bass, am pretty happy with how things are developing.
My first post on MacIdol is - <a href="http://www.macidol.com/song/14860" target="_blank" class="postlink"> Careful Of The Undertow </a> . I hope you enjoy it.
There's quite a back catalogue which I hope to share.
Look forward to hearing some new music, but bear with me while I learn how MI works!
Neil

Thanks RC - it seems like a nice place to visit, but I'm having a bit of a job getting around the site - I'm sure that will change.

Appreciate the warm welcome Fosco - not sure about every day, but maybe one a week.
See you around the traps,

its a cool site fo sho brotha...
the site recently did an update and i too have problems navigating cause im so used to how things were but its more streamed lined now and as soon as some of the bugs get worked out im sho the resident coder will have us running smoothe.
macidol is a small community for sure but as small as we are w erecently achieved a million downloads and plays
macidol also is anti troll, spam and no pop up ads and in your jam room all that is there is your music, i love that. also got a storefront as well as trading out bad mixes with new mixes and NOT having to iupload a new file and info
its cool that you will be sharing some of your library with us. once you get aquainted with the site you will see the ease and sensability of it
hey where's that lullaby grandpa

Thanks again RC - the lullaby has taken on a mind of it's own and is sounding rather up-beat now - don't know it's going to put any baby to sleep, that's for sure. Hope to have it ready for upload in a week or so.

you're welcome brotha.
also never be ashamed of self promotion in the tunes thread thats what its there for as well as pointing out tunage you heard that you liked
the charts aren't driven by some bogus number system or ratings. its like it should be run by, the plays and downloads one gets. we don't consider self promotion to be some act of pimping as much as we do folk just trying to get some feedback or getting heard.
the forum is quite here compared to other places. there aren't thousands of us in here jocking for anything.
also we typically look at the charts as realestate opposed to a ranking order of what songs are better than others.
i probablly shouldn't use "we" as i cannot speak for everybody but i think many would agree.
a cool thing that happens at midnight london time is the charts are wiped clean and random songs are genreated on it. i call it magic time as i have found plenty of solid tunage this way.
