I wrote this lullaby, Sleep, My Baby for a friend.
But here's the cool thing: I wrote the whole thing myself without any loops! I played all the instruments on my new keyboard, and sang the melody. (instruments include bass, cello, viola, 1st and 2nd violin, and glockenspiel). This is quite an accomplishment for me, as I've always considered myself instrument-impaired. It's that new keyboard, I tellya! It's made of magic!

Very cool, Joanna. This is really quite solid. Those strings sound great! The glockenspiel has a music-box sort of quality.
In terms of little bit of criticism, I felt like the pizzicato strings lacked a little bit of dynamics. If you were to just play with velocities on those notes in sections, I think it would help give the backing part more of an organic quality to match your singing. Or if they are on a separate track play with the string line volume.

Perhaps I messed with the velocity too much. I have to admit that I did do a lot of futzing with that. Maybe your idea about the track volume might help.

In the beginning of the song, I imitated the pizzacatto strings with my phrasing, then gradually smoothed out the vocals as the song progressed, in an imitation of the process of falling asleep. It's okay that this didn't work for you. I like the effect, so I'm going to keep it, but not everything works for everyone, so no problem.
As for the faulty diction, I couldn't hear that, so I'm not sure to what you're referring there. Can you point out the instances?

Well, I just listened to it again, and I hear all the closing consonants, including on sleep and fast. I do have really nice speakers, though, so maybe that's the problem.
