Couldn't resist making a full song out of my 1+1 entry. I hope you enjoy it.

well it was clear you cleared things up fo sho!! keep em comin.
the beauty in digital recording. ez fix
Er... except that I just rerecorded everything. I sort of changed several lyrics. Then I had a new idea for how I wanted it to sound. So although it sounds very similar, there are a lot of little changes. It's like potato chips. You can't just change one thing. -- Joanna
and now the addiction begins i have a confession to make, sometmies joanna i get listenin to your voice and forget to listen to other things it is simply a wonderful thing to wake up to. me sleeps with ipod plugged into in my head and i fell asleep listen to you and maggieo's collab. mmmm wonderful ear candy
exactly and thats why I have so many bloomin' unfinished songs. Most of the time I think.... well its a 3 minute song so it takes just 3 minutes to redo a track. No time at all. If it was only that simple. Quite often my first guitar pass sound the best as its spontaneous and original... after that sometimes its like trying to do a cover version of my own song and I have to learn the thing and the first pass still sounds better!! In fact I find it easier to start a new song. and then.. oh dear I need to redo a part and on and on..... Its easier in a band... erm maybe not.... less fighting. Save the bees.

the only downside to that clanger man is you have to except the mistakes too. listen to any of my songs and you will hear what i am talkin bout. filled with mistakes. but toots once told me my tunes or certain tunes of mine have a sense of humanity in them. that is not word for word what he said but i was happy my #1 macIDOL was appreciatin that very thing. thought that was cool.
just like with joanna and this tune. even tho she mixed it up mo' she still captures that humanity. i dig this tune AND all from a parlor game!! my fav way to write is to go live so to speak. obviously a beat and at least one instrument/rhythm going on. but yes goin live is what moves me most. its when i go back that things start to get all messed up. especially when ya can't sleep cuz a thing perplex's ya that one is gonna require some headphone time fo' sho' i like both versions of "these tears". cool to hear a song progress ain't it?
not if ya hang with maggie it won't be for long. besides according to some i have a bunch of songs that make good use of the weak backin looping trax. the greatest feature GB has is its power as a writing tool.
And now I've changed it again, just because I could. Wanted to see how it would sound with a 'lead' singer and backups. I think I like it better. I'm going to mull the change and figure out later what I'm going to do.
As for weak back-up loops, confession time: I sort of like them. All I really care about are the lyrics and the melody. The less in the background, the easier it is for me to find my melody. Maybe it comes from years of a capella singing. Before GB, all I ever had was my voice and my fake trumpet. I just sang tunes and when I needed a musical bridge, I'd imitate a trumpet. Never had anything else prior to GB. -- Joanna
