joanna, if anyone could pull off a comedic jazz tune you can. and just did.
good job.
p.s. there's not a woman in the world that doen't feel the way you expressed this tune. especially the remote line
and
"I've got a rag-on temper
Like you've never seen
Mix PMS with a
Splash of grenadine
"
is something every man can relate to

you go write 'em girl!! you're off to a great start!
and how can ya not laugh at the lyrics. but the crazy thing is you're voice is so nice even during the "did you check your ass" line i wasn't offened. i guess if a woman with a voice like yours was yelling at me i'd be like "yes dear, you're right dear"
maybe one day we can do a duo thing

Thanks, gang! Don't worry, there isn't going to be a whole line of PMS songs. Just having a little fun at the moon's expense.
The weird thing is that I finally figured out (and don't make too much fun of me for not realizing this) that the little keyboard thing you can play can also be a ton of other instruments. Ooh, that was a discovery! Very fun. I promised myself I would stop writing songs for a bit while I caught up on my other work but it's gonna be tough now that I know about that lil keyboard thing.
This is very typical of me -- jump in and start writing songs without knowing ANYTHING about the program! ha!
Anyway, we'll see how long I can stand not playing on GB. Self-control has never been a strong suit. Hmmm... I wonder if a duet would count? Nah, that's not the same thing at all. That's just singing.
Loophole!

hey joanna google 'midikeys' much mo' better. it is what i used until i got my m-audio keystation lets you use your computers keyboard like piano keys! even lets ya change pitch.
and if ya did a crazy intense vocal thing with some layering it would be just as fun i bet

layering? like harmony or something? I was thinking about doing a song where I did background vocals along with the main melody. Not that I'm going to write a song or anything. Nuh ah. Just talking hypethetically.
I'll go check out the link you sent. Thanks!

Okay, I d/l it. Way too cool!
This is not helping my vow to stay away from songwriting.
Maybe if I get a lot of work done today I can reward myself with a lil playing around on GB...

yes its how i do all my vocals cuz i got's no one to sing with me
so i just layer my other voices over, after or before the main vox track.
sometimes i do it to create an echo effect opposed to using the trax echo.
and sometimes when i can't hold my breath long enough on phrasing like with "tommy gotta ray gun" i will sing the line. then go back and add the words i missed
and yes " Just talking hypethetically"
don't stay away too long

It's addictive! I sometimes wonder if we'll at some stage be confronted by our loved ones and dragged off to some sort of computer/music rehab clinic...

I just listened to this song and have a question. Should I take out the spoken parts? I'm not sure my imitation of a guy's voice holds up. Maybe it would be better if it was just the song, without the interplay.
What do you think?
