Live MacIDOL concerts

So, the video stream seems to work for live performances. Now I would like to get some kind of regular MacIDOL live show going. I can have several people connect into the streaming server, then cut the camera between them.

Any volunteers for the first attempt. It would be great to have one or two "bands", a song or two each, and I'll MC the event. Once we learn from that, we can scale up.

Requirements(as far as I can tell): 10.5 or better, decent bandwidth, video camera (built-in OK). If you generate most of your music on the computer itself, it might be better to have a separate computer to serve the video to the stream.

We're also going to want folks that are in time zones close enough that it's not outrageous for them to be on at the same time.

Okay, I'm game. It'll get me a bit more together for the live thing, as I am a bit out of practice with live playing. Could be cool, though!

It's not at the main MacIDOL site. I've got a free account at livestream. Performers would need to make a livestream account, then I could add them to the production team for the MacIDOL channel. By going to a particular page at livestream, the camera connects up, and the director can cue any of the cameras connected in.

There will definitely be a little bit of a learning curve for the first couple of times. By then, we should have it down well enough to write some decent instructions. Until then, I think we'll probably coordinate over chat to get things going.
